(366/366) New Year’s Roses
Today is the final day of my Project 366. To celebrate the conclusion of this experience I am posting a photograph of white roses in a vase painted by Karen. The roses are significant because we bought them the other day on a whim. When Karen saw them, she picked them up, put them in our basket, and said, “white roses for the new year.” That sums it up.
I made a photo a day, every day, during 2016. It was a fantastic experience and I discovered a lot about my photography. I made many photographs I truly loved–and would not have made if I hadn’t been motivated by this project. Sure, I made several “clunkers” along the way, but that was the point. By making and posting a photo everyday, I was freed up to just shoot. I wasn’t worried about making a masterpiece every single day. And that is just fine. Because without the clunkers I wouldn’t have the ones that made me smile.
